It  has been almost a year since I've finished a car drawing but I just started a new one! The Ferrari Laferrari. I hope that I can finish this one somewhere in the coming weeks. The Linework is done now so shading is next yay!

I'm still alive! Sorry for the fact that I've been offline for sooo long. Back in september 2014 I started a study Industrial design and that is taking up so much time that I;m not able to do a lot of car drawing. In fact, I have not drawn a single car since september. Due to a rule in the Netherlands I have to pass almost all of my tests of the first year of my study to continue the whole bachelor. If i dont pass all the tests I need will be kicked from the study and I wont be allowed to do the same study for three years. So Thats the reason I have little to no time to draw. Luckily a part of Industrial design is learning to draw, so I decided to post some of my design sketching drawings here to fill in for my car drawings that are not here XD. This drawing was made this week at a glass drawing lecture/lesson.

Regards, Sven

I am Sven Deinum, I was born in 1996 and I live in the Netherlands. I have a big passion for cars and drawing. Since I was a little kid I was obsessed with cars, I knew every brand and model, I could name pretty much everything that drove by one the motorway.
Ever since I was big enough to hold a pencil I have been drawing stuff, I always have been very creative. At the age of 12/13 years old I started to take drawing seriously and I mainly focused on drawing cars. I uploaded my drawings to several sites like and On these site I met some very talented people who were willing to help me and they gave me great tips to improve my drawings. With these tips I started to try several techniques until I figured out a technique that works for me. I was amazed by the large community behind drawing and I really enjoyed meeting all those amazingly talented people and learning from them. Learning from other people is the best way to improve your skills in my opinion and I love to help people with improving their drawings. It is great to see and follow the progress people make with every drawing.
I have learnt a lot the last years and I am still learning new things with every drawing I make. Thanks to the great people I met on the internet my drawings improved a lot. In the future I would like to improve my portrait drawing skills and maybe try some landscape drawings and backgrounds for the automotive drawings.
At the moment I am in the last year of secondary school (that is how it is called in the Netherlands) and after this year I will go studying, probably something like industrial design. I would love to use my drawing skills in my study or work.
If you have questions about my drawings or on how to improve your own drawings, please feel free to ask me, I love to help people improve their skills.
All my latest drawings are made with the same tools, most of them are drawn on A3 size paper (11.69 × 15.70 inches). The paper I use is Canson Bristol Extra Smooth, this paper is a bit hard to work with but it gives a great result. The pencils I use for black and white drawings are Steadtler Mars Lumograph Graphite Pencils and for the colored drawings I use Faber Castell Polychomos pencils. I have tried a lot of different sorts pencils and papers but the ones I use at the moment are the best so far for me. Beside the paper and the pencils I use Blending Stumps and tissues to blend the graphite and I use Mechanical pencils for all the small details.
